Curious about Afriski? You’ll find answers to the questions we get asked more often on this page. For more information, get in touch with us and we’ll provide all the inspiration you need. After all, the best way to get to know Afriski is to head to the Maluti Mountains yourself.

DO YOU HAVE PHONE SIGNAL AND INTERNET?There is Econet and Vodacom 3G (Lesotho) signal, although this can be interrupted by the weather. You can purchase local SIM cards and data at Reception on arrival. The resort has internet wifi in public areas, however it is best to get your own sim for connectivity. Data is generally cheaper in Lesotho than in South Africa.

HOW DO I BOOK?

WILL I NEED MY PASSPORT?Definitely – Lesotho is a separate, sovereign country which means you’ll be crossing a border in each direction.

WILL THERE BE ENOUGH SNOW?For sure – as long as it’s cold enough, our snowmaking team will ensure the slopes are covered. June - August, we guarentee snow on our slopes.

WILL I NEED MY OWN SKIS OR BOARD?You can hire all your ski and snowboard gear from our Ski Rental Shop. You can also get clothing from our store on site.

WHERE IS AFRISKI?Afriski is located high in the Maluti Mountains in northern Lesotho. From the Caledonspoort border just outside of Fouriesburg, it is 90kms to Afriski. Follow the blue Afriski boards. It takes 1.5hrs from the border to Afriski. From Maseru, it takes 3hrs to drive to Afriski.

I’VE NEVER SKIED BEFORE – HOW DIFFICULT IS IT?With the help of our ski instructors, you’ll pick it up in no time at all. Afriski is designed for Beginners (and of course the kids).

IS AFRISKI OPEN IN SUMMER?Afriski is a year round resort. Come and join us for trail running, mountain biking, Enduro and more. You have to try the Zipsail - highest in the world.

HOW LONG IS THE DRIVE THERE?From Johannesburg or Pretoria, you’re looking at around six hours. Take it slow and easy. Potholes and snow on the roads in winter. We recommend a 4x4 or high rider vehicle if you’re going to explore the more intense inner Lesotho regions.
