Where is Afriski?

Afriski is located high in the Maluti Mountains in northern Lesotho.

Will I need my passport?

Definitely – Lesotho is a separate, sovereign country which means you’ll be crossing a border in each direction.

How long is the drive there?

From Johannesburg or Pretoria, you’re looking at around six hours

Will I need my own skis or board?

No – you can hire all your hardware from our Rental Shop.

What about skiing clothing?

Buy everything you need from our Gone Skiing shops in Jo’burg or at the resort.

I’ve never skied before – how hard is it?

With the help of our ski instructors, you’ll pick it up in no time at all.

Will there be enough snow?

For sure – as long as it’s cold enough, our snowmaking team will ensure the slopes are covered.

Is Afriski open in summer?

Yes, so come and join us for trail running, mountain biking, Enduro riding and more.

Do you have phone signal and internet?

There is Vodacom 3G (Lesotho) signal, although this can be interrupted by the weather. You can purchase local SIM cards and data at Reception.
