With a close proximity to the Motete and Malubamatsu rivers, Afriski Mountain resort is perfectly situated to explore these unqiue mountain streams casting dry flies for wild rainbow trout. Lesotho has hundreds of kilometres of high altitude rivers and offers arguably the finest fresh water sight fishing Africa has to offer, on par with top international destinations. The crystal clear water, combined with a healthy wild trout population, make this destination a firm favourite amongst all fly anglers privileged enough to hunt her waters.

Rainbow and to a lesser degree and to a lesser degree brown trout are the target species. Trout in the rivers around Afriski are treated to a myriad of both terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates on which they can feed. The results being that fly anglers can confidently target these iconic fresh water species with dry flies throughout the season, a method we strongly encourage.

From October to April every year.
